KB Collection Screenie Fairyland Moving Sand Art by kinetic sand artist Klaus Bosch (The Sandman)

The Screenie series is The Sandman’s tribute to the Iconic Pop Artist Andy Warhol, with the widest color selection in our collection of moving sand art. The Screenie Fairyland Moving Sand Art’s colorful plastic frame is designed to resemble a funky 1970’s TV screen, with all parts 100% crafted in Europe. It comes equipped with a separate base, which allows for the picture to be displayed both vertically and horizontally.

The Screenie is the smallest in the KB Collection, 7” x 4 ” making it a great fit for a Nightstand, Office Desk, or Bookshelf. With this everchanging, soothing, educational Sand Art, you can give this as a gift to a child and know that you are stimulating the brain in a positive manner. No batteries necessary!

With this soft sand blend of aquamarine, pink, and white paired with the funky white frame the princess in your life will be able to go on that magical journey she has been dreaming of. If you are giving this as a gift, its one that they will talk about for years to come! Your Screenie Fairyland Moving Sand Art will do several times a day what mother earth takes millions of years to accomplish.

Due to the handcrafted nature of each item, each piece bears its own unique qualities.

How it Works:

The KB Collection moving sand art is interactive, ever-changing, mesmerizing and versatile handcrafted art pieces. Turn the sand picture over to watch the battle of the elements: The sand just wants to settle at the bottom, the air just wants to escape to the top, the water hosts the party. The result is the sand trickles between the air bubbles to create fascinating stratifications in the sand mountains. More air creates a slower flow of sand resulting in a delicate trickle of sand making more dramatic peaks and valleys. Less air creates a faster flow of sand making dune shapes. Best of all, these handcrafted art pieces are equipped with an air hole to last for years on end, allowing for you to regulate the amount of air in each sand picture so you can make the sand fall as fast or as slow as you want.

Meet The Sandman

Klaus Bosch (aka The Sandman) has been making his interactive KB Collection Sand Art in Lustenau, Austria since 1988. When Sandman was a younger man searching for his way in life, a friend of his gave him one of the original versions of sand art available in the '80s. He was captivated as his mind tried to wrap around the beauty of the art and why it did what it did. Fascinated, he decided to try to make one for himself. trial after trial, failure after failure, he finally created a sand picture he could sell in 1988. Yes, 6 years of experimentation finally resulted in what you see today as the KB Collection sand art. Klaus is always thinking of ways to defy gravity with his sand art.

The original, classic sandblend is what you see in the Deep Sea Pacific and a few others models.

Sandman's sand art has been in the display windows (worldwide) of Louis Vuitton and Nordstroms.  He has been commissioned to make special gifts for Kings, Sultans, and famous dignitaries. His art can be found in hotels, spas and businesses around the globe.

From Sandman:  "My sand art is spiritual, it contains a lot of questions and indicates answers at the same time.  It involves the beauty of what art once was while trying to give answers to our spirit and our inner calm."

"Don't try to understand my art with your mind. Feel it with your hear and use your imagination."

Screenie Two-Tone Black/White Moving Sand Art- By Klaus Bosch

I loved it! - Loved it, because I gave it away as a gift and won't be able to watch it myself anymore! I had some trouble getting the flow right, but enjoyed it flowing faster or slower. The person that received it was thrilled!
