Do you have a sand picture that is several years old and has a lot of air and/or lost fluid over time? Have you owned your KB collection moving sand art for a while, and it needs some extra life because it isn’t performing like it used to? Perhaps it has been in storage for a bit or is completely dried up. Don't worry! There is still hope. This Liquid Refill is the exact solution that the Sandman uses when he initially created your sand picture. The liquid refill should improve the overall performance.

This liquid refill is in a sealed 30 ml bottle and comes with either a standard injector or a large injector to insert the fluid into your sand picture. This is typically more than you would need as a refill.  The leftover fluid can be kept for 3 months after use in a refrigerator. If the liquid appears milky or discolored please discard.

When ordering, please select the proper injector size for your sand art.

Sizes:
  • Standard: For most moving sand art with frames 3/4" wide or smaller.
  • Large: For larger moving sand art with frames wider than 3/4 ". SOME OF THE KB COLLECTION MOVING SAND ART MODELS THAT REQUIRE A LARGE INJECTOR FOR REGULATION ARE AS FOLLOWS: BALLERINA, MAASAI, BLACK BEAUTY, SAHARA, CORAL REEF, OCTARINE, DIAMOND, WALNUT TREE, LARGE SIZE MOVIE, EXTRA LARGE SIZE MOVIE, AND OFTEN TIME CUSTOM BUILDS.

Warning: Injector is intended for Adult use ONLY!!

How to use: Insert the nose of your injector into the refill liquid (do not attach the needle yet) and pull up the plunger to draw the refill liquid into the injector. Attach the needle now and remove the cap.  Insert it into the air hole. Add in small quantities (2ml-3ml at a time). When refilling you want your sand to water ratio to be about 50:50. Keep a close eye on the sand level when injecting your refill liquid. If you have a lot of air present in your sand picture, you must withdraw air after you have add the Liquid Refill (** Caution:  If you only add water and do not remove any air, it is possible for the glass to crack **). After adding the Refill Liquid, if you see any stuck sand particles, tap the frame to encourage the sand to move.  Initially, it might be best to remove most of the air to get the sand to fall without resistance.  Turn it over multiple times to see the sand fall freely. Once you see improvement in your sand picture, use your air scale, and add the proper amount of air.

Please note: Injecting too much liquid refill can cause the glass to break (pressure outward). Removing too much air when a sand picture is low on the liquid can also result in glass breakage (pressure inward).  This is only for sale within the United States. Please do not order if you outside of the USA.

About the Sandman

Artist Klaus "Sandman" BoschKlaus Bosch (aka Sandman) has been making his KB Collection Sand Art in Lustenau, Austria since 1988.  He has a small crew of less than a dozen employees at his sand factory. Sandman's sand art has been in the display windows (worldwide) of Louis Vuitton and Nordstroms.  He has been commissioned to make special gifts for Kings, Sultans, and famous dignitaries.  His art can be found in hotels, spas and businesses around the globe. His wild love for nature drives his inspiration and helps capture the beauty and express it in a sandpicture.

From Sandman:  "My sand art is spiritual, it contains a lot of questions and indicates answers at the same time.  It involves the beauty of what art once was while trying to give answers to our spirit and our inner calm."

    Soap boost success.

We'd had our sand art picture for several years when we noticed that the sand didn't seem to be flowing as well as it once had. Chris advised us to try a soap boost application, which we did. Our sand art picture is now working beautifully.

    Inadequate instruction

I watched videos and spent a lot of time on the website and couldn’t see how much of the soap to use for my model which is not one of the larger ones. I used about half and I think it helped but I am left with these threads of sand which I think must be from sand clumping along the bottom under the weight of the other sand and sitting too long. I couldn’t break it up even using air bubbles. The thread would be wrapped around an air bubble rising and still not break.

    Revived Sand Picture

I had a Sand picture that I purchased back in the late 80's or early 90's that had been sitting in a box for many years. When I pulled it out of the box a month ago, it was totally dried up. I purchased the Soap Boost and added the spring water and it has come back to life. I am so excited!!!! I have a wall-mounted unit and now I can enjoy the ever-changing scenes as I rotate the picture. THANK YOU so much for making this available. I am ecstatic!!!!!

    Sandtastic desk accessory.

I love my sand art, best Christmas present ever. It arrived in 2017, and a year later I learned it requires occasional maintenance when it began acting up. This is the second maintenance booster I have purchased. My only complaint is the need for a yearly $12 maintenance is expensive. Please either share the type of soap you use, or stop taking additional profit by reducing the cost in some fashion. I have the small outer space movie version. Again, amazing gift that gives something new every day.

    Soap Kit

The kit was expensive and there wasn’t enough to do the job. I added dish soap to get the art to operate properly.
